Terms of Service

1. Your account

You can use Lingora as a guest or sign in with Google, GitHub or email. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. Please give accurate information and tell us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.

If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Lingora only with a parent or guardian's permission.

2. Acceptable use

Please use Lingora respectfully and lawfully. You agree not to: harass, threaten or impersonate others; post offensive, illegal or infringing content (for example in names, profiles or chat features); cheat, manipulate leaderboards or use bots and automated scripts; attempt to access accounts or systems you are not authorised to; interfere with or overload the service; or copy, resell or reverse-engineer Lingora except as allowed by law.

We may suspend or remove accounts or content that break these rules.

3. Our content

Lessons, audio, artwork, games and software in Lingora are owned by Lingora or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning. AI-generated explanations and conversations are provided for practice and may contain mistakes.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Core learning features are free. Lingora Plus and Lingora Max are optional paid subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly in USD. Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as our merchant of record and may apply its own terms and applicable taxes. Prices, billing periods and included features are shown on our Pricing page and at checkout before you buy.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Polar customer portal (polar.sh/lingora/portal) or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your paid features until then. If a subscription is revoked, refunded or a payment fails and is not resolved, paid features end and your account returns to the Free plan; your learning progress is kept.

5. Refunds

You can request a full refund within 14 days of any charge (a new subscription or a renewal) by emailing [email protected] from the address on your account. Refunds are issued through Polar to your original payment method, and paid features end when the refund is processed. After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.

7. Disclaimers

Lingora is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to make lessons accurate and the service reliable, but we do not guarantee that content is error-free, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that you will reach any particular level of fluency or pass any exam.

Pronunciation scores, speech feedback and AI features are automated estimates for practice, not professional assessments.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lingora will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or progress, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing.

9. Termination

You may stop using Lingora at any time and request account deletion at [email protected]. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service, and will give notice where reasonably possible.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms as Lingora evolves. We will post changes here and update the date above. Continuing to use Lingora after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
